Welcome to my portfolio!

My name is Derek Michaels, and I'm a curently a sophomore at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.  I'm pursuing a degree in Childhood Education, with a concentration in English.  So far, I've done quite a bit of writing for my various classes.  In this portfolio, my goal is to highlight a few of the pieces I've done.  You'll find some blogs I've posted about new media and social networking, a couple of essays that incorporate rhetoric strategies, as well as a poem and even a video.  Please feel free to look around and if you have any comments or suggestions, visit the contact link on the toolbar.
